OSH Coordinator
Statutory Compliance Training

Since the OSH (Amendment) Act 2022 took effect on 1 June 2024, the Occupational Safety and Health Act 1994 now applies to virtually every Malaysian workplace — not just the original 10 gazetted industries. Any employer with 5 or more employees must designate an OSH Coordinator, and DOSH requires that person to complete recognised, in-person training before they can be certified a "Trained Person."

Why It Matters

A Compliance Gap Most Employers Don't See Coming

The Law Now Covers Almost Everyone

Since 1 June 2024, OSHA 1994 reaches virtually every Malaysian workplace, not just factories and the original 10 gazetted industries.

A 5-Employee Threshold, Not a Factory Threshold

Any employer with 5 or more staff must designate an OSH Coordinator — offices, retail outlets and service businesses included.

Real Penalty Exposure

Reported penalties run up to RM500,000, with certain provisions carrying personal liability at director level.

A Statutory, Not Optional, Qualification

Only DOSH, or a training institute registered with DOSH, can certify a "Trained Person" — this cannot be treated as a generic soft-skills course.

Programme Objectives

By the end of the programme, participants will be able to:

  • Run a basic hazard identification and risk assessment across office, retail or service settings.
  • Meet the training component required to be certified a DOSH "Trained Person."
A REAL LEGAL CONSTRAINT, NOT A SALES PITCH

Why This Course Cannot Be Delivered Online

DOSH requires OSH Coordinator training to be run by DOSH itself, or by a training institute registered with DOSH, and requires physical, in-person classes only before a participant can be certified a "Trained Person." This is a statutory requirement of the certifying body — Prime Orator sources delivery accordingly through our compliance training network.

Statutory Requirement

Physical Attendance Is Mandatory

There is no recognised online or hybrid pathway to "Trained Person" certification under current DOSH rules.

Accredited Delivery

Delivered by DOSH-Registered Trainers

Facilitated through our compliance training network of appropriately accredited trainers, not by Prime Orator's in-house consultancy team.
